A Chilly November Wedding at Creekside Farm.
Hannah and Lukas’ November wedding at Creekside Farm in Rush City, Minnesota was one of those days that proves you don’t need warm weather to have an unforgettable celebration.
It was chilly.
The air had that crisp, late-fall bite.
And it was so much fun.
This was actually my third wedding at Creekside this year, and every single time I photograph here, it feels different — which is exactly why I love it. The warm wood tones, open fields, and golden evening light create the most timeless setting for couples who want something elegant but still grounded.
Getting Ready in the Barn
The morning started slow and intentional inside the barn. The light filtering through the windows paired beautifully with the rustic textures — wood beams, vintage mirrors, soft fabrics.
Hannah’s getting-ready moments were quiet and reflective. There’s something about November weddings that feels more intimate. Maybe it’s the season. Maybe it’s the way the light sits lower in the sky. Everything felt calm but anticipatory.
A Ceremony Full of Joy
Despite the chill, the energy was warm.
Hannah and Lukas’ ceremony was filled with laughter, emotion, and so much support from their family and friends. When couples fully lean into the day — cold hands and all — it shows in their photos.
And they absolutely did.
Golden Hour in November
One of the best parts of a fall wedding at Creekside Wedding Venue is golden hour.
As a Minnesota wedding photographer who has photographed multiple weddings at Creekside Farm… November might be my favorite! The sun sets with that rich, golden tone that makes everything feel cinematic. The fields surrounding the venue gave us the most beautiful backdrop for portraits. The veil caught the light perfectly. The sky softened into warm tones.
Yes, it was cold.
But you would never know it from the way they held each other and laughed through it.
This is why I always encourage couples to step outside, even briefly — those few minutes can create the most magical images of the entire day.
Documentary Moments That Matter
While we captured timeless portraits, some of my favorite images from the day were the in-between moments.
The quiet adjustments in the mirror.
The bridal party walking and laughing together.
The dance floor energy once the night really got going.
This is the heart of documentary wedding photography — preserving not just how your day looked, but how it felt.
